Recognise these faces? Elise features as a bridesmaid in Anna & Chris’ wedding and she must have thought I did a half decent job on the tools because she was keen to have me capture some snaps of her day too.
I was really happy to hear from Elise, in the middle of Feb mind you, that she needed a photographer for her wedding in March.
Yep, that’s right.
In six weeks this power couple planned a wedding.
After a few phone calls, some crazy ideas and me chatting very nicely to Cygnet Cinema in South Perth, we managed to wrangle together a perfect plan for the post ceremony photoshoot.
I think it’s safe to say it all paid off…

Alma & Hasib
ALMA & HASIB’S NIKAH
IN BECKENHAM, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Now before we start, I have a little bit of history with these two! I was first contacted by Hasib on the 5th of November, 2018. He was planning to propose in two days time to Alma on Cottesloe beach. He was going to be under one of the gazebos for their anniversary and needed an undercover photographer to capture the magic of the moment.
Cue: Me.
Fast forward two days. The forecast has turned on us and the weather was freezing and windy. There was almost no one on the beach, and my plan to disguise myself as a person tanning on the beach wasn’t going to cut it. So I ended up planting myself at the bus stop ‘waiting’ for my trusty Transperth ride to collect me.
However I was actually waiting for Hasib to rock up in his Gunmetal Mercedes AMG.
They arrived, and I sneakily followed them down to the beach behind some trees. Sunset was the cue for me to know when it was going down, however technical difficulties ensued for Hasib and it was delayed until 20 minutes after. Light was EXTREMELY low, but luckily I know my way around low light.
Fast forward a year ahead (and an engagement party that I also was fortunate enough to capture) and we are blessed with a beautiful day for their Nikah.
Cue the highlights please!
Ok now here’s the whole ceremony, from start to fin.
