It was the middle of 2019 when I received a phone call from Mark’s Aunty. She had seen our photos from the Scotch College ball earlier in the year and was very interested in seeing if we were available for her nephew’s wedding just before Christmas.
And I’m so glad that I was.
We met up in Fremantle at Little Creatures to discuss the day. The first thing that stood out to me was their youth and shyness. They were adorable. We planned out the day and crossed our fingers that we weren’t going to melt in the summer heat.
The ceremony venue was simply stunning. The soft light, colours windows were everything I had dreamed of when photographing inside a church. The grounds were of the same calibre, with beautiful trees and archways at every turn.

AT SETTLERS RUN GOLF COURSE IN MELBOURNE, VICTORIA

My first time visiting another Australian city could not have come with a better reason. To capture my family friends wedding day on a summers day in Melbourne.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve definitely done a bit of travelling! But yes, I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to my home land.
It was just me on this journey. Being whisked by family members from house to house because I didn’t have my own car. Scouting the golf course with Ray the day before in a golf buggy for photo spots. Spending my nights in my hotel bed reviewing and planning the best ones.
It was all a whirl wind, and my legs were a little worse for wear after a good couple of days exploring Melbourne’s city. It’s lucky I’m young.
We were blessed with stunning light all day, love, continuous laughter during the speeches and a rowdy party bus to get all our drunk butts back to our hotels.
Damn. What a wild ride it was.
